There are two ways to begin receiving mail to your new Earth Class Mail address: file a change of address with USPS or directly notify individual senders.
**Note the USPS 1583 form, which Earth Class Mail requires, will not forward mail to your new address.
Completing a Change of Address with USPS:
To have all mail forwarded to your new address, you can complete a Change of Address with USPS online. When filling out a Change of Address with USPS, there are two options: Temporary or Permanent. Find out more here.
You may also request a USPS Mover's Guide packet available at all US post offices. This packet will include a USPS From 3575 (NOT 1583 which we require) that can be completed and submitted at your local US post office. To ensure delivery, it is important to complete your change of address form accurately and completely.
How to format your new address when filling out a Change of Address Form:
Your Earth Class Mail number should appear on the same line as the street address or PO Box, preceded by the letters PMB (with no other symbols) when completing a Change of Address form. PMB stands for Private Mail Box, which is the US Postal Service's designation for our accounts.
For example, if you subscribe to the Portland PO Box, and your Earth Class Mail number is 12345:
PO Box 4120 PMB 12345
Portland, OR 97208-4120
If you chose an address with an existing suite number such as our address at 177 Huntington Ave Ste 1703, and your Earth Class Mail number is 12345, you would want to list the address as:
177 Huntington Ave Ste 1703 PMB 12345
Boston, Massachusetts 02115-3153
Please note in both address examples the use of "PMB" and not "ECM #", "#", or any other symbols. Do NOT list the Earth Class Mail number to the left of your PO Box or street address number, or your mail may be misdirected.
It can take the USPS up to 10 business days to process a change of address, so there will be a delay before you begin to see mail in your Earth Class Mail account. A change of address is effective for one year, so please make sure to notify senders before it expires.
While a change of address form can be used to redirect your mail to Earth Class Mail, USPS regulations prohibit using the change of address process to change away from any Commercial Mail Receiving Agency (such as Earth Class Mail).
Remember, if you're outside of the US, or otherwise unable to visit a US post office, you can use the official USPS Change of Address online.
Notify Senders Directly
Don't want all your mail forwarded to us? Control where your mail goes by notifying specific senders of your new address. This gives you the flexibility to continue receiving personal packages directly at your home or office. Note, when notifying individual senders of your new address, you may also replace "PMB" with "Suite", "#", or "unit".
Follow these simple steps from your Earth Class Mail portal to share your new address with senders via email.
