Sending us paper to scan and make actionable from your FileRoom account is free! You can request our 'Magic Labels' any time you have paper to send in.
Preparation & Packaging
Individual pages will be scanned and converted into searchable PDF documents according to how they are grouped and separated within the package they are shipped in. We will look for things like folders, dividers, paper or binder clips, etc. that indicate which group of pages should be scanned together and converted into a single PDF document.
For example, a package with 2000 pages might be grouped and separated by folders with 20 pages per folder. We'll scan and convert those grouped pages into 100 PDF documents with 20 pages per document.
If you have loose paper that isn't already organized into separate documents, just indicate that on the form when requesting your Magic Labels and we'll contact you to work out a solution for how we can identify which pages should be grouped together.
You can use the size/type of box or packaging that is most appropriate for the amount of paper you plan to send. We recommend placing packaged paper into an appropriately sized shipping box to better protect contents while in transit. Please note that packages cannot exceed 150 lbs each.
Creating Cabinets (Optional)
When sending us paper, you can decide if you want your documents scanned into your FileRoom Inbox or into a specific cabinet for instant organization. In order to select the cabinets as a destination when requesting your Magic Label, an account administrator will need to create them first. Click on Create a cabinet, give it a name and click Save!
Request Your Magic Labels
After logging in, click on the Send Us Paper button. Complete the form to tell us how many boxes you're sending, if you have any special handling requests and where you want to deliver your scanned documents.
If you have boxes of paper that you want scanned into multiple cabinets, you'll need to request your Magic Labels per cabinet. For example, paper in Box 1 should be scanned into the Accounting cabinet, and paper in Box 2 should be scanned into the Human Resources cabinet. You'll submit a label request for each cabinet and append each label to the box with the corresponding cabinet destination.
Print Your Label(s) & Ship!
Once you submit the form, we'll create the your label(s) and quickly email them to you to print and append to your boxed paper for UPS pickup or drop off.
